Humanity has universally recognized that the most essential need in life is food. Even the Vedas state, ‘क्षुत् खलु वै मनुष्यस्य भ्रातृव्यः’ (Hunger is indeed the greatest enemy of a human).

October 14, 2023 (Purattasi 27) is the auspicious day of Mahalaya Amavasya and performing righteous deeds on this day, especially charity, yields immeasurable merits. The scriptures affirm that performing anna danam, providing food to the destitute on this day will result in acquiring the highest punya (merit).

Our Ishta poortha kainkarya charitable trust, established with the sole purpose of following the teachings of Vedas and scriptures, is pleased to announce that on this significant day of Mahalaya Amavasya, we will distribute food to 500 individuals at 11 AM.
